Your advantages when cooperating with Consystec

detailschraegConsystec deals with development and production of components meant for the manufacture of signs for buildings - these components being made from genuine glass and V2A/V4A special steel - and in this Consystec is an efficient partner for any manufacturer of signs.

All these systems are manufactured by Consystec themselves or may have particular components manufactured by efficient companies exclusively¸ these systems being available to you from stock . You are thus given the chance to gain optimum profits by extraordinarily inexpensive and high-quality components.

Thanks to our comprehensive stock substantial quantities of signs for buildings are available and at the same time marginal quantities of the various components are available immediately from stock at very favourable prices and without the requirement of a minimum order volume.

Due to our 24 ours-delivery-service you will be very efficient as we will be enabling you to realize even short-term deliveries to your clients. You will stand to gain from long years’ experience of our staff in the building business who will be only too pleased to work out for you their specified quotations in case of calls for tenders you may have on hand.

You will profit from our comprehensive variety of line that will go up to mechanical and maintenance-free electronic "busy" signals for meeting rooms. In our line you will find beautifully designed and high-quality components from genuine glass and special steel for signs to be hung and outside signs for flat steles standing freely and convex pylons. You will profit from efficient graphic software "LaserFilmPrint" for marking of the inlets.

We will also supply you with very simple MS-word data suitable for the marking of inlets and ready to be used by any office staff without any prior particular training.

At no time will you experience Consystec in a rival position to your projects as we confine ourselves merely to supplying components and do not produce any signs ourselves and in no case will we ever assemble such items in buildings.

We want to leave this to you as you have the better expertise to do so and we suggest using these advantages for your company. We will sure persuade you of our efficiency by working out your offers and orders to fit the exact day “just in time” and will ship within 24 hours any items available from stock.

Application in indoor areas

In indoor areas signs made from genuine glass will preferably be manufactured in the sandwich system thus providing the chance to design the marking in an easily exchangeable way with suitable laser and inkjet printers on transparent, matt finished, or white polyester films.

For safety reasons in public buildings exposed to possibly extreme vandalism marking on doors up to max.German norm DIN A 3 size ESG glasses will be fitted and in the majority of other buildings float glass will be used. 2 x 4 mm glass thickness has become a common standard.

In case of any glass sizes in excess of German norm DIN A 3 for safety reasons 2 x 5 mm ESG glass is recommendable to be used. There is, however, no law governing ESG glass for signs in buildings.

Application in outdoor areas

Signs made from genuine glass to be fitted on walls in outdoor areas up to a maximum size of about 1 square metre ought to be made from glass of 8 mm thickness and in case of specifically long sizes these ought to be made from 10 mm thickness ESG glass.

Thanks to long years’ experience in the application of genuine glass our skilled staff will be pleased to advise you on choosing the right glass. In case of overhead mounting of genuine glass though VSG glass is indispensable. In no way in outdoor application the sandwich system is to be applied as otherwise due to high humidity and rainy weather water bubbles may arise between the panes which are not likely to disappear completely. In case there is no option to the sandwich system in outdoor areas the glass edges have to be fixed with an extremely strong adhesive tape. In case of need you will be gladly advised on possible sources to purchase these materials.

Special formats

Beyond the sizes of glass regularly on stock and immediately available we offer any other glass sizes in various glass thicknesses, these being deliverable in a period of about 3 weeks. Float/ESG-glass in convex shape is, of course, available in special sizes beyond the sizes immediately deliverable. For cost reasons these glass prices are bound to be high because of set-up costs and the expensive curving machines unless a considerable amount of glass panes of same size is needed which – at the same time – ought to have the same bending radius. You will be advised by us also in this respect.

What is actually genuine glass?

detailschraegGenuine glass is produced by numerous glassworks in Germany and abroad as Floatglas, ESG-Glas = Tempered safety glass or VSG glass Compound safety glass. Production is made in accordance with German norm DIN 1249 and is supervised by the associations of the glass industry.

Which are the differences of the single glass types:

Floatglass

Float glass is a basic glass from which ESG (see above) as well as VSG glass (see above) is produced. Floatglass is, therefore, the basis for further manufacturing as it has got only a low hardening degree permitting cutting, grinding and drilling. By corresponding post-production treatment after cutting-to-size and the treatment of the edges as well as corresponding holes and cut-outs of shapes made floatglass may be upgraded to ESG-glass or VSG-glass. A special feature of floatglass is that in case of breakage there will be only one or few cracks.

TVG-Glass

TVG-Glass is produced from floatglass by being chemically hardened (in expert language this means tempered) so becoming 4 times as hard as floatglass. Moreover, it corresponds to the conditions for ESG glass as follows below

ESG-Glass

ESG-Glass is also produced from floatglass by a hardening process (in expert language this is called tempered). Due to this process the glass will be about 8 times harder than floatglass and will not permit any further treatment afterwards. Due to the enormous hardness of the ESG glass this glass will be falling into quite small pieces of glass in case it breaks due to any external influence. In no way may ESG glass be cut or treated by any other method. Apart from cleaning activities no changes should be made regarding ESG-glass. ESG-glass is preferably used for mounting to walls.

VSG-Glass

VSG-Glass always consists of two glass panes joined to each other by a two-sided adhesive film. The adhesive film may be transparent, matt finished or covering white. VSG-Glass may be manufactured from 2 times Floatglass or from 2 times ESG-glass or 2 times TVG glass. VSG-glass from 2 times floatglass may be cut, ground or drilled afterwards unlike VSG-glass from 2 times TVG-glass or 2 times ESG-glass. VSG-glass is mainly used only in case of applications of overhead mounting.

Convex Glass

Conevx glass may be manufactured from floatglass as well as from ESG-glass. Manufacture of convex panes as VSG from 2 times float glass, 2 times ESG or TVG-glass is possible, too. Production costs though are decisively influenced by the quantity to be manufactured and set-up costs of the machines as well as the curving templates.

What is actually Special Steel ?

detailschraegStainless special steel is a collective denomination for any rustproof steels. These steels contain at least 12 % chromium (Cr) (DIN 17440) and are resistant against any oxidizing agents. Higher contents of chromium and further alloying constituents like nickel (Ni), Molybdane (Mo), Titane (Ti) or Niob (Nb) improve anti-corrosion properties. These additives influence mechanical properties, too.

Other alloying constituents are added only in order to improve mechanical properties, e.g. nitrogen (N) or for mechanical processing , e.g. sulphur (S). Since 1912 when stainless steel was invented producers and manufacturers have used trade names like V2A, V4A, Nirosta, Remanit or Cromargan, in which case often only parts are mentioned in trade names , e.g. NIRO for Nirosta. The word „special steel“ without adding „stainless“ is sufficient to define rustproof steel.

For our components from special steel we usually recommend the following quality: The German denomination V2A, international denomination 1.4301, American denomination AISI 304 to be applied in indoor and outdoor areas as long as influence by atmospheric aspects is not too aggressive for this quality. Starting from the consumption sector the denomination „Edelstahl Rostfrei“ („Stainless Steel“) and the well-known Stainless-Logo prevail.
